Air Abrasion
Rather than using local anesthesia and drilling, many areas
of decay can be comfortably removed with air abrasion– an
air stream of tiny particles. In addition to treating decay,
Dr. Monson uses air abrasion to thoroughly clean the biting surfaces
of most teeth and ensures that no decay is left deep in the grooves
of the teeth to be sealed. Air abrasion is useful in early small
cavities, repair of chipped teeth, removal of teeth discoloration
and stains.
